"Why Shiatsu?"
My career path initially started somewhere else: I studied art and am still active as an artist today. But I soon realized how difficult it is to make a living from it. I worked in video for a while, but soon realized that it wasn't fulfilling me.
During this phase, I became a mother - and the question of a career path that was sustainable and meaningful became more pressing. I was looking for something that was tangible, would have an impact and really suited me - something with a connection to other people.
Dance, later Tai Chi, yoga and an interest in Far Eastern philosophy have accompanied me since my childhood/adolescence- as sources of strength, self-connection and the joy of feeling one's own body. This connection was already leading me in a new direction mentally: towards something that had to do with the body, presence and depth.
At the same time, I had a deep personal interest in healing, inner development and mental health. My own life story brought me into contact with these topics early on. Dealing with them was often challenging - but also enriching. Bodywork, talk therapy, creative, trauma-sensitive and spiritual paths have shaped my understanding of what it means to be human - and still have an impact on my work today.
Then, by chance, I received my first Shiatsu treatment - and was immediately fascinated. It felt like being moved - not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally and energetically. At the same time, there was gentleness, clarity and a feeling of protection. After the first few sessions, I knew I wanted to learn how to do this.
The training was the beginning of a deep process - healing, lively and challenging. I learned that there are no "right" or "wrong" feelings. That I don't have to be different from who I am. That I can have boundaries and still stay connected. During the treatments, I felt that I can give something valuable - and grow in the process.
What I have experienced, lived through and integrated myself now gives me a deeper understanding of what my clients bring with them - and also a great respect for each individual path.
For me, accompanying people on their path of healing and change with Shiatsu is a lively, deepening process - full of learning, feeling and connection. Every treatment is an invitation to share healing experiences.
